Coordinating photos for a large group can feel overwhelming. Managing all the different personalities, ages, and expectations is no small feat.

That’s where I step in.

As a Hilton Head family photographer experienced with extended families and family reunions, I take the lead so you don’t have to. I guide groupings clearly and keep things moving at an easy pace — without barking orders or forcing moments.

The result is a session that feels relaxed and under control, with images that include the must-have group portraits and the genuine interactions that happen in between — moments you’ll be glad you didn’t miss.

Perfect for extended families and family reunions on Hilton Head

When your whole family is together — and you want it done right

This style of session is ideal for:

  • Multi-generation families visiting Hilton Head together
  • Family reunions with grandparents, adult siblings, and cousins
  • Large groups who want both group portraits and candid moments
  • Families looking for a photographer who can confidently lead a big session

Whether you call it extended family photos or family reunion pictures, the goal is the same: meaningful images that reflect your family’s connection — without stress or confusion.

A smooth, organized process for large family sessions.

01

Before your session

I’ll help you choose a day, time, and location that works well for your group, walking ability, and overall vision. I’ll also offer simple guidance to make coordinating outfits and day-of logistics easy.

02

During your session

I manage groupings clearly and efficiently — starting with the full group, then moving through grandparents, siblings, and individual families. Kids get natural breaks, and we leave room for real interaction.

03

Beyond your session

Within two weeks, you’ll receive a private online gallery with all your fully edited images, ready to download, share, and print. Everyone in the family can access the gallery easily.

What’s included in your extended family session

No surprise fees. And you never have to choose or narrow your image count. If it’s in focus, well-composed, and captures a real moment, you’ll receive the edited photo.

Best locations for extended family photos on Hilton Head

Easy access, great light, and room for big groups

The right location makes a big difference for extended family and family reunion photos. I’ll help you choose a spot that photographs beautifully while keeping logistics simple.

Popular settings include:

  • Wide beaches with dunes and shoreline variety
  • Lowcountry oak trees with Spanish moss for shade and texture
  • Marsh or harbor views with a quieter, scenic feel

Sessions can take place at public beach access points, locations I personally recommend for the best light and flow, or — in many cases — at your vacation rental, depending on access.

Extended Family Photography FAQ

How many people can join an extended family session?

Extended family sessions are designed for larger groups, including grandparents and multiple family units. Group size helps determine session length, but there’s no strict cap — we’ll plan based on what your family needs.

Can we do family reunion photos at our rental?

Often, yes. Sessions at vacation rentals depend on beach access, space, and lighting. I’ll help you decide what works best and recommend alternatives if needed during planning.

What photo combinations are included?

I photograph a thoughtful mix of groupings, including the full family, individual family units, grandparents with grandkids, siblings, and other meaningful combinations so everyone is included.

What if not everyone arrives on time?

I keep sessions flexible and can adjust the flow if someone is running late. That said, sessions do start and end on time. Additional time may be added when available and is prorated.
